Caribbean Touch Dance School was founded in 2000 by Maxwell Aguilar. Our studio offers Salsa, Bachata, and kids’ classes, as well as private lessons, events, and wedding dances. No experience is needed, as we have classes for every skill level.

Maxwell Aguilar

Founder & Artistic Director

Born in El Salvador, Maxwell Aguilar has been immersed in Latin cultural music and dance from a young age and gained extensive knowledge of salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata, and hip-hop dance styles.Canada.

In 1995, Maxwell began dancing with a group called "Sangre Morena," where he performed traditional Salvadoran and Afro-Latino dances. Then, in 2000, he joined the Canadian Salsa Team, where he competed across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, and sought out opportunities to perform in music videos, commercials, and television shows.

Upon returning to Edmonton, Maxwell founded the Caribbean Touch Dance School to share his love for dance and teach salsa and bachata to students of all levels. Since opening his studio, Maxwell has also continued to share his dance expertise worldwide by teaching classes in Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tucson, San Antonio (Texas), Miami, Mexico, Seattle, New York, El Salvador, and throughout Canada.
